Eco-Topia Productions will present Eco-Topia 23, a community-wide celebration of sustainability and eco-friendliness. The event will be held on the south side of Sunset Park from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Oct. 28.
Eco-Topia will feature a variety of activities for all ages, including:
· A sustainable fashion show featuring local designers who use sustainable materials and practices
· An upcycled costume contest where participants can compete for prizes for their most creative and eco-friendly costumes
· A yoga class led by a local instructor
· Garden workshops where participants can learn how to grow their own food and flowers
· A kids' craft corner with fun and educational activities for children of all ages
In addition to these activities, there will also be a variety of vendors selling sustainable products and services. Eco-Topia is a free event and open to the public. Eco-Topia is a family-friendly event. An adult must accompany all children.
“This event is a great opportunity for people of all ages to learn about sustainability and eco-friendliness. We hope that Eco-Topia will inspire people to make small changes in their lives that can impact the environment. This year, we are partnered with All-In Clark County and the Department of Environment and Sustainability,” said Starla Newcomb, Curator of Events at Eco-Topia Productions.
Eco-Topia is a zero-waste event. All attendees are encouraged to bring their own reusable water bottles and utensils. There will also be a recycling and composting station on-site. Eco-Topia is accessible by public transportation. People are encouraged to ride a bike or scooters and a bike valet will be on site.
Sustainability is the practice of using resources to meet the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Eco-friendliness is the practice of reducing one's impact on the environment.
