Adlaidie Walker, fondly referred to as L.A., is a distinguished Army Veteran and graduate of the U.S. Defense Information School, where she served her country as a Radio and Television anchor with A.F.R.T.S. (American Forces Radio and Television Network) in the SCN Panama Canal Zone. Transitioning to civilian life, she took on the role of News Director at Baltimore’s W.B.G.R. Radio.

 

Hailing from Chicago and residing in Las Vegas for two decades, L.A. is driven by a deep-seated desire to contribute to the betterment of the world around her, a mission evident in her stage productions. She has authored, directed, and produced numerous socially impactful theatrical works, including "Ten Minutes of Truth on Racism," "No Labels," a heartwarming tale of a homophobic dog finding acceptance with a gay couple, "Six No Uptown Lessons Learned from a Card Game," and "The MAM Show: How Music Unites us" which explores racial and political unity through music. Her latest endeavor is a collaborative musical dramedy titled "The Wonderful World of Was," which sheds light on how a chosen family navigates an unexpected dementia journey.

 

In addition to her theatrical accomplishments, L.A. is a prolific author, with works including "Seeing Beyond the Mess," chronicling her personal journey, "COVID Cocktails, and Community," and "The I Found Me Project," featuring an underwater photoshoot and expose by internationally renowned photographer Tomaz Rossa. Her talent in songwriting was recently recognized at Keith Thompson's Composers Showcase at Myron's The Smith's Center for her song "I'm a Man Who Loves a Man," performed by country artist Chase Brown, in a bold effort to promote diversity, inclusion, and self-acceptance.

 

As a Co-Executive Director of Social Issues Theatre and co-author of the Enable Me Theatre pilot program, L.A. is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for dementia care partners. Her podcast, "Up is Higher Than Down," serves as a motivational platform where she and her guests candidly share life challenges and triumphs, inspiring listeners to overcome obstacles with resilience and determination.
