The open skate will resume after the demonstration.
Five artists will hand-paint portraits on the bottom of five skateboarders' boards for display in the Winchester Wall Gallery from Nov. 3 to Nov. 17, showcasing the unique talents of local artists. On Nov. 18, these skateboards will be displayed from 7 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. in the Winchester Dondero Cultural Center's skatepark. The skaters will ride these boards in a skate jam from 7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., performing and altering the paintings by using the boards. The boards will be redisplayed from 8:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and will continue to hang in the Winchester Wall Gallery until Dec. 1. Participants and artists alike can see how the portraits have changed.
