Show Extends Run at Lighthouse Artspace, Blending Wine, Comedy, and Immersive Art
By Debbie Hall
Las Vegas audiences have spoken—and they want another round. The genre-bending IN POUR TASTE: A Comedy Wine Tasting Experience has extended its run at Lighthouse Artspace at The Shops at Crystals through Jan. 31, 2026, following consistent sell-out performances and enthusiastic word-of-mouth praise. This lively event combines humor, art, and community, making it a must-see for those seeking fun and memorable experiences on the Strip.
At its core, IN POUR TASTE is more than an evening of laughs. It is a curated, multi-disciplinary experience in which performance, visual media, and culinary artistry converge to create something wholly original. Guests are guided through a flight of wines as comedians weave narrative, improvisation, and cultural observation into a dynamic tasting journey. The result is a performance that is as thoughtful as it is entertaining—bringing the craft of winemaking and the craft of comedy into playful conversation.
The creative minds behind the project, Sweeney Preston and Ethan Cavanagh, have established themselves as two of Australia’s most distinctive young comedic voices. Their work has been recognized internationally, including honors from the Adelaide Fringe Festival, Perth Fringe, and New Zealand’s Dunedin Fringe. Their approach to the show highlights the theatricality of comedy while embracing the collaborative, communal spirit that underpins both wine culture and live performance.
“We both started comedy when we were extremely young, irresponsibly young. We both started in our mid-teens. Yeah, we were still drinking two-liter bags of wine out of big boxes back then. Nothing much has changed. There obviously aren’t a lot of people on the comedy scene when you start that age,” said Sweeney.
“We just ended up working, and the show was born by accident. We thought it would be a one-off thing we did to try and get some free wine. Now, it’s really gotten out of hand a little bit, and all of a sudden, we’re in America,” added Ethan.
The production’s home, Lighthouse Artspace Las Vegas, amplifies the show’s artistic dimension with large-scale immersive installations and atmospheric multimedia environments. Using 360-degree projections, the venue transports audiences to the vineyards of Italy, Spain, and other regions, creating a visual journey that complements the tasting. Each segment unfolds visually and verbally, making every swirl and sip an act of discovery and connection among place, palate, and performance.
“So, we’ve added an immersive element where we’re using the 360-degree projection. So, as your wines are being poured out, we’re displaying the vineyards from the countries where all of those wines have been made. So, over the course of the 90 minutes, we’ll take you to the vineyards of Italy or Spain, and so it’s a whole other element where you get a better sense of where these wines have come from and what the wineries are like, where they’ve been made. It has been really popular with the audience and a whole other element for us,” said Ethan.
One of the elements that sets IN POUR TASTE apart is its rotating lineup of acclaimed wine experts, each bringing their own perspective, storytelling style, and curated selection of wines. The roster includes celebrated names such as “Bordeaux Bob” Cranston of MGP Fine Wines, Carbone’s Rina Bussell, internet wine personality Andrew Hurley, Wine Director of Restaurant Guy Savoy, and sommelier André Hueston Mack of Mouton Noir Wine. These experts do more than pour—they educate, inspire, and celebrate the artistry behind each bottle, making every tasting a trusted and enriching experience for wine lovers.
Presented by Starvox Touring and Seabright Live, IN POUR TASTE positions itself as a celebration of artistry in its many forms—from winemaking and design to comedy and immersive storytelling. It is an experience that appeals to audiences seeking connection, creativity, and a memorable night out, blending refinement with a sense of play.
