The Majestic Repertory Theatre returns featuring the American premiere musical by the writers of Broadway’s Tony Award-winning Bandstand. The Sandman, a new and darkly comic musical tale, opens at Majestic Repertory Theatre on Oct. 28 with shows through Nov. 28.
The Sandman is a story about young parents who realize how much they don’t actually know. The story involves the limits people are pushed to when danger comes calling. But, it is also about the families that individuals have and the families people choose. The music is a lush, sweeping orchestral score with rousing production numbers, charming ballads, and rich, cinematic underscoring.
Drawn from the nightmarish fantasy of E.T.A. Hoffmann, author of The Nutcracker, the wife of an ingenious German clockmaker, engages a new nanny to care for their two children, a series of bizarre and unnatural events begin to unfold. As the family is thrust ever deeper into chaos, the sinister forces at play are gradually revealed—forces from which only the children may be able to save them.

Under the policy, guests will need to be fully vaccinated with an FDA or WHO authorized vaccine to attend a show and show proof of vaccination at their time of entry into the theatre with their valid ticket. “Fully vaccinated” means the performance date must be at least 14 days after the second dose of a two-dose COVID-19 vaccine or at least 14 days after a single-dose COVID-19 vaccine. Proof of negative COVID test from within seven days prior will be accepted. In addition, mask use will be required per current CDC guidelines.
