The Las Vegas Menopause Event Turns Education Into Empowerment on Oct. 17

A community gathering brings women, families, and local businesses together to break the silence around menopause while supporting nonprofits that serve women and children.

Menopause is a natural part of life, yet conversations about it have been missing from too many households, workplaces, and healthcare settings. The Las Vegas Menopause Event aims to change that by creating a welcoming space where education, personal experiences, wellness resources, and community connections come together.
Returning for its second year on Saturday, Oct. 17, the event will run from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at IPEC LV, bringing together local businesses, wellness professionals, educators, and community members for a day dedicated to understanding menopause and supporting those navigating its many stages.
For co-founder Jessica Waugh and her fellow Certified Menopause Specialist, the event is about more than raising awareness. It is about making information accessible, encouraging honest conversations and helping people feel less alone as they navigate a significant stage of life.
“Thank you for the opportunity to share The Las Vegas Menopause Event with you and your audience,” Waugh said. “This event is truly about bringing menopause education, awareness, resources and support directly into our community and opening up a conversation that has been missing for far too long.”
That spirit of openness extends to the event’s audience. While menopause is often discussed as a women’s health issue, its effects can reach partners, children, families and colleagues. The gathering welcomes everyone, including husbands and partners who want to better understand what their loved ones may be experiencing, as well as daughters who can benefit from learning about menopause before they encounter it themselves.
Educational seminars are designed to address different perspectives and needs, giving attendees opportunities to ask questions, learn from knowledgeable professionals, and discover resources they can use beyond the event. By including younger generations, organizers hope to replace uncertainty and stigma with knowledge, understanding, and confidence.
The event also features a special guest: Dr. Michelle Sands, a physician known for her work in menopause and hormone health, who will travel to Las Vegas to deliver the main-stage keynote. Her appearance highlights the importance of bringing expert voices into community conversations and helping attendees better understand the information and options available to them.
For an event centered on education, hearing from specialists and connecting with professionals in person can be particularly valuable. Menopause experiences vary widely, and having access to credible information can help people ask more informed questions and advocate for their own health and well-being.
The gathering also celebrates the strength of Southern Nevada’s small-business community. Organizers estimate that approximately 90 percent of participating businesses are local, creating opportunities for attendees to discover services, products, and resources offered by entrepreneurs in their own backyard.
That local focus reflects the event’s broader mission: supporting individuals while strengthening the community around them. From wellness providers to businesses dedicated to helping women thrive, participating organizations contribute to a shared effort to make menopause more visible and better understood.
The community impact continues beyond the event itself. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the eWomenNetwork Foundation’s Las Vegas chapter, which supports an annual grant program for local nonprofit organizations serving women and children.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the opportunity to share both the event and the impact we hope to create,” Waugh said.
Keeping those contributions in Las Vegas is central to the organizers’ vision. Funds raised locally remain in the community, helping nonprofit organizations continue their work supporting women, children, and families. It is another way the event connects personal well-being with a larger commitment to community care.
At its heart, The Las Vegas Menopause Event creates room for conversations that should never have been taboo. Through education, expert insights, local resources, and opportunities to connect, the gathering encourages people to approach menopause with greater understanding and less hesitation.
For the organizers, success means that attendees leave not only with new information, but also with a stronger sense of connection and the confidence to continue asking questions. It means helping partners become better informed, giving daughters a head start, and reminding women that they do not have to navigate this stage of life alone.
The second annual event invites Southern Nevadans to show up curious, bring their questions, and join a growing community conversation about menopause.
