Celebrate The Golden Age Hollywood Show on March 28

By Debbie Hall

An era defined by timeless charm and star power comes to life on March 28 at the Gold Coast Hotel and Casino, where The Golden Age Hollywood Show, an autograph event, will gather beloved celebrities from the 1950s through the 1960s as children and as adults in the 1970s and 1980s for a nostalgic celebration of entertainment's golden age. Produced by former child star Mimi Gibson, the event invites fans to reconnect with the personalities who shaped classic film and television, offering a rare opportunity to share in their stories, memories, and enduring appeal. More than a fan event, the show serves as a heartfelt tribute to the friendships and camaraderie that defined a generation of young performers, capturing the spirit, warmth, and magic of a bygone Hollywood era.

Gibson is a former child actress whose career helped define the warmth and innocence of 1950s and 1960s Hollywood. Born in 1948, she began working in film at just three years old, quickly becoming one of the era's most recognizable young performers. Between 1951 and the early 1960s, Gibson appeared in more than 40 films and television productions, sharing the screen with some of the industry's most celebrated stars and directors.

Her early credits included the films I'll See You in My Dreams and Everything I Have Is Yours. By 1956, she was part of The Ten Commandments, directed by Cecil B. DeMille, and delivered memorable performances in Rebel in Town and Strange Intruder. Her career continued to flourish, with roles in Houseboat, The Buccaneer, and The Children's Hour, as well as numerous television appearances. In 1961, she introduced her voice to a global audience as Lucky in One Hundred and One Dalmatians, a role that remains a beloved part of Disney history.

Beyond her work on screen, Gibson became a meaningful advocate for child performers. In the 1990s, she played a key role in reforming the California Coogan Law, legislation designed to safeguard the earnings and rights of young actors. Drawing on her industry experience, she worked to ensure future generations would benefit from stronger financial protections and safer working environments.

Today, Gibson is the creator and producer of The Golden Age Hollywood Show, a celebration of Hollywood's classic era that brings together legendary performers, collectors, and fans. Through this work, she continues to bridge generations, preserving film history while honoring the artistry, resilience, and enduring magic of Hollywood's Golden Age.
