Core Contemporary Gallery to Host Group Exhibit starting Jan. 22


Local Explorations: A Group Exhibit by Las Vegas-based Artists Who Contributed to Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart to feature works of many disciplines and specialties

Local art gallery Core Contemporary will present a limited engagement exhibition sponsored by Meow Wolf Las Vegas and Core Arts Concord entitled Local Explorations starting on Jan. 22.


The exhibition will feature artwork in various mediums and styles from 13 Las Vegas-based artists who contributed their talents to Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart.

Core Contemporary will host three public events during the exhibition’s limited engagement, including an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 22; an Artists Talk from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12; and a closing reception from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 26. Light refreshments will be provided at each event by Fort Bedlam Cafe, a nearby and newly-opened LGBTQ-owned small business. Attendees of the Artist Talk event will have the opportunity to hear from select artists about their work, processes, and influences; participating artists include Brent Sommerhauser, Elliot Demlow, Eric Vozzola, Jane Poynter, Jerry Misko, Nancy Good, Valentin Yordanov.


Core Contemporary is a unique venue for aficionados looking for a diverse and sophisticated art experience. Located near the Las Vegas Strip and Convention Center, this 3,000-square-foot gallery provides an engaging setting in which to experience remarkable art, meet working artists, enjoy immersive educational forums, and host private events. Core Contemporary also supports an artist-run nonprofit (Core Arts Concord Inc. - CACI), providing opportunities for working fine artists living in Las Vegas and arts and culture experiences for the local community.


Meow Wolf is a Santa Fe-based arts and entertainment company that creates immersive, interactive experiences to transport audiences of all ages into fantastic realms of story and exploration. Meow Wolf has expanded to Las Vegas with their second permanent installation, Omega Mart, and recently to Denver with Convergence Station. Local Explorations: A Group Exhibit by Las Vegas-based Artists Who Contributed to Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart will be on display at Core Contemporary art gallery, located at 900 E. Karen Ave Ste D222, starting Saturday, Jan. 22, through Saturday, Feb. 26. Core Contemporary will be open to the public from Noon to 4 p.m. every Wednesday through Sunday during the exhibition’s limited engagement.
