It’s day 15 of the Fallout Fringe Festival, and it’s time for some magic! Okay, the entire festival is magic, but this time there is a bona fide magician! You can access the full schedule at www.falloutfringe.org/schedule.

Art & Deception by Chris Moorman
Scrumptious ★★★★
Deep in the back room of Cornish Pasty on Charleston, Chris Moorman, magician extraordinaire, presented his solo magic show. Throughout the 45 minutes, we were exposed to wonderful card and coin magic, and a dangerous trick using a multi-pronged fishhook. Interspersed in between were personal anecdotes, tales from history, and a magic lesson or two. Now, I have been studying magic for the past decade, so, admittedly, I’m not the best audience member for a magic show. I watched a magic act for the craft rather than being amazed by the spectacle, and, from my perspective, Moorman was fantastic. His technique was spot-on, and, most impressively, his delivery and stage presence were perfect. He was engaging, warm, and friendly, and connected easily with the audience. This card magician is the real deal (pun intended). And in a small, intimate space like Cornish Pasty, it’s more captivating, as the magic is happening right in front of your eyes. The audience was astonished and had a blast. I wish it had gone on longer. If you like magic, you’ll love this show.
