Four International Illusionists Transform Magic, Technology and Theatrical Spectacle Into a Mind-Bending Live Experience at MGM Grand

by Debbie Hall

Magic is an art form built on imagination, precision, creativity and the ability to make audiences question what they believe they see. Those elements take center stage as NOW YOU SEE ME LIVE, inspired by Lionsgate's blockbuster film franchise, makes its U.S. premiere at the MGM Grand Theater in Las Vegas.

The production brings together four internationally acclaimed illusionists whose individual talents combine to create a theatrical experience where visual artistry, technical innovation and the psychology of illusion meet. From extraordinary escapes and intricate sleight of hand to large-scale visual spectacles, the show explores the creative possibilities of magic as an art form.

Presented by the producers behind the internationally successful The Illusionists, in collaboration with Lionsgate, NOW YOU SEE ME LIVE translates the cinematic world of the film franchise into a live theatrical production. Its inspiration comes from the films' celebrated Four Horsemen, a team of illusionists known for elaborate performances, unexpected twists and seemingly impossible feats.

Four Artists, Four Approaches to Illusion

The Las Vegas production features four performers from different corners of the world, each bringing a distinctive artistic discipline to the stage.

Andrew Basso (Italy) is an internationally recognized escape artist whose performances combine suspense, physical endurance and extraordinary technical skill. He became the first and youngest Italian to win the World Escape Championship, establishing a reputation for death-defying escapes that challenge the limits of performance.

Gabriella Lester (Canada) brings a combination of quick wit, technical ability and stage presence. At 22, she is the youngest and only female member of the Las Vegas Horsemen. Her interest in escape artistry began early, and she mastered Houdini's upside-down straightjacket escape at 14.

Adam Trent (United States) represents the intersection of traditional magic and contemporary technology. Known for his deceptive sleight of hand and innovative approach, Trent has developed a modern style that extends beyond the theater to television and social media. His work demonstrates how the language of magic continues to evolve alongside digital culture.

Enzo Weyne (France) specializes in large-scale illusions that combine technical ingenuity with artistic vision. His approach pushes beyond conventional magic through ambitious concepts, innovative staging and visually striking effects.

Together, the performers bring thousands of combined performances across hundreds of cities, including sold-out theatrical engagements on Broadway and in Las Vegas.

Where Technology Meets Theatrical Artistry

What distinguishes large-scale illusion is the collaboration between performance, design and technical execution. Behind every seemingly impossible moment is a carefully constructed relationship between movement, timing, staging, visual effects and audience perception.

NOW YOU SEE ME LIVE brings those elements together through a combination of individual acts, grand illusions, unexpected transformations and theatrical surprises. The performers' varied specialties allow the production to move between intimate demonstrations of skill and elaborate spectacles designed to challenge the audience's understanding of what is possible.

A rotating roster of special guest performers will also appear throughout the Las Vegas engagement, introducing additional talent and surprises to the production.

For audiences, the appeal extends beyond the mystery of how an illusion works. It is also an opportunity to experience the artistry and creative imagination behind a performance that depends on the relationship between the artist and the viewer.

A New Addition to Las Vegas Entertainment

The arrival of NOW YOU SEE ME LIVE adds another internationally developed theatrical production to Las Vegas, a city where magic and illusion have long held a prominent place in the entertainment landscape.

The production previously attracted audiences in international markets, including sold-out runs in Sydney, Perth and Singapore, before making its American debut on the Strip.

By bringing together performers from Italy, Canada, the United States and France, the show celebrates the international nature of contemporary illusion while giving audiences the chance to experience four distinct approaches to the craft.

Whether the attraction is the daring escape artistry, the technical sophistication of large-scale illusions, or the sheer theatrical spectacle, NOW YOU SEE ME LIVE offers an evening devoted to the creative possibilities of making the impossible appear real.
