The new season of the UNLV Symphony Orchestra will take place at the Artemus W. Ham Hall on the campus of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, on Wednesday, September 28.
The program will include the performance of Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No 8 in G major, Karl Nielsen's Flute Concerto featuring John McMurtery as the soloist, and Mykola Lysenko's Overture from “Taras Bulba.” For more info, click here.
Ukrainian-born American conductor Taras Krysa will be conducting the program and is earning critical acclaim as a new and exciting musical presence. Taras serves as the Director of Orchestral Studies at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. For more info, visit taraskrysa.com.
John enjoys a varied career as an orchestral flutist, soloist, chamber musician, teacher, and composer. Currently, he is a section flutist of the New York City Opera Orchestra and an Associate Professor of Flute at UNLV. For more info, visit johnmcmurtery.com.

Artemus W. Ham Hall on the UNLV campus is located at 4505 Maryland Parkway. Tickets are $20, and $10 discounted tickets are available for the in-person event to seniors, military members, and UNLV faculty and staff, and all students.
