In every neighborhood, there is someone who makes the Arts a part of their life, and our community. You'd be surprised to discover how many different people use the arts to improve the quality of life in our hometown. EAT MORE ART! VEGAS will feature them regularly in our series "10 Bites."
What kinds of art do you enjoy, create, or perform in?
I adore performative work, pranks, creative destruction, set building, art slut, and writer of words and worlds.
Why do you do it?
I can't not do it.
What’s your favorite production/performance experience so far?
Faking Banksy's, building cults, Imaging mythology, connecting people. I love it all. . .
What jobs have you done other than being an artist, or what do you do when you are "at work?"
I am currently the Southern Nevada face of Nevada Volunteers whose mission is to increase volunteerism in the state.
What is an Arts experience that you will never forget?
The fake Banksy's fooled [my friend] Paco which made my year. I love the small interactions where your audience has learned something from your work.
What would you be doing if you weren't performing, creating, or enjoying the Arts in Las Vegas?
Work. . . .Sleep . . . Art. Those are the modes that move me. Oh yeah I forget I am a parent but frankly that is merely a longitudinal art project I am deploying on the community.
Name something you love about Las Vegas, and why.
I adore this city so much. The community is supportive and kind. The work is getting better and better. I love how small it feels sometimes and how international at other times.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve been given?
You are not productive when you date and your work suffers. Its hard but true
What superpower would you have and why?
I would like to live for 200 years or so. There is so much I want to get better at that without a few lifetimes it is not going to happen.
Any future projects or events that you're looking forward to?
I am looking forward to more Radar, Meow Wolf, Kind Haven, next years immersive season by Majestic, deeper Core Conversations, remodeled Public Fit. Can we just say I am pretty damn excited about everything that our future holds! I want to support it, be part of it, adore it, fall in love with our community, evangalize it, and mostly co-create it. Let's do this Vegas!!!
