Delta Academy’s Rock Academy of Performing Arts (RAPA) is turning up the volume this fall with a free, high-energy concert at Downtown Container Park on Thursday, Nov. 6, from 5–7 p.m. The public is invited to enjoy an evening of live rock music while supporting some of Las Vegas’ most promising young musicians as they showcase their passion and talent in one of downtown’s most vibrant open-air venues.

The performance will feature RAPA’s Resident Band, made up of auditioned Delta Academy students performing an electrifying lineup of rock ’n’ roll favorites spanning decades of music history—from Elvis and Motown to Led Zeppelin, KISS, funk, hip-hop, and heavy metal. The event offers a fun, family-friendly opportunity to see the next generation of Las Vegas performers take the stage and light up the night.

RAPA serves as the state-of-the-art music conservatory program for students enrolled at Delta Academy, a public charter school in North Las Vegas. The program provides grades 9–12 with immersive instruction in contemporary performance and music theory across instruments such as vocals, guitar, bass, keyboards, drums, and DJ/EDM. Designed to nurture aspiring musicians, RAPA equips students with real-world experience and confidence through frequent live performances in the community.

“Our students are not just performers, they are passionate artists,” said Dr. Jay Caballero, Chief Rock Officer of RAPA. “The RAPA Resident Band, comprised of students who have auditioned and proven themselves, is a testament to their dedication. These students perform at a professional level—they are the heart and soul of our school.”

About half of the songs in the show will be student-led and student-chosen, allowing participants to express their individuality and musical tastes. Senior students who have been part of the program for several years will also take the stage for special performances, alongside younger students who are newer to RAPA.

“The band will go out and play a set of music that could be modern, popular music that many people have heard and entertain people,” added Dr. Jay. “They gain experience performing in front of an audience just like working professionals in the industry.”

The event’s venue, The Lawn at Downtown Container Park, is a lively hub for live entertainment, dining, and community gatherings. The 1.1-acre park features 39 shops, restaurants, and bars — all built from 43 repurposed shipping containers and 41 locally manufactured Xtreme Cubes — creating a one-of-a-kind setting in the heart of downtown Las Vegas.

“It’s important to highlight local performers, especially student artists from schools like Delta Academy,” said James Gonzales, General Manager of Downtown Container Park. “Every time Dr. Jay reaches out, we jump at the opportunity to host these concerts. You never know—we might be watching the next Imagine Dragons, The Killers, or Panic! At The Disco right here on our stage.”

The concert is free and open to the public, providing a fun and inspiring evening for music fans and families alike.
