Entertainment. Storytelling. Real Talk.
Reviews • Commentary • Music • Emotional Truth
A few weeks ago, I sat in The Composers Room in Las Vegas’ Historic Commercial Center District and witnessed something beautiful.

At 86 years old, Paul Stubblefield stepped onto the stage.
His voice was strong. His stage presence was effortless. His warmth was genuine. His star remained completely untarnished.
As I watched him perform, I was reminded that Las Vegas remains one of America’s great havens for artists.
In many places, performers age out of visibility. Opportunities diminish. Experience is overlooked in favor of what is newest and trendiest.
But Las Vegas understands something important.
Great artistry does not have an expiration date.
Paul’s performance was proof of that. He wasn’t standing before the audience as a memory of what once was, but as an artist still capable of captivating a room.
That is why venues like The Composers Room matter.

Nestled within the Historic Commercial Center District, The Composers Room has become more than a venue. It has become a cultural gathering place where artists of all ages, backgrounds, and genres are welcomed and celebrated.
Much of that credit belongs to founder Damian Costa, whose vision has helped preserve a space where live music, storytelling, creativity, and artistic excellence continue to thrive. In an era when many arts venues struggle to survive, Costa has demonstrated a commitment to keeping the arts alive and accessible to the community.
Equally deserving of recognition is Julian Miranda.
While audiences see the finished performance, Julian is often working behind the scenes, lending his decades of experience in entertainment to the artists who grace the stage. He understands sound. He understands presentation. He understands performers.
Most importantly, he understands how to make artists feel valued.
Through his guidance, attention to detail, and commitment to excellence, a small room often takes on the feeling and quality of a much larger venue. The audience experiences professionalism, warmth, and polish, while the artists receive the support necessary to present their very best work.
That combination is rare.
Together, Damian’s vision and Julian’s experience have helped create an environment where artistry is not judged by age, popularity, or trends, but by talent, dedication, and authenticity.
As Paul stood on that stage at 86 years young, he reminded all of us that creativity can remain vibrant throughout a lifetime.
Thanks to people like Damian Costa and Julian Miranda, Las Vegas continues to provide artists a place where their gifts are welcomed, respected, and celebrated.
In a city famous for entertainment, that may be one of its greatest accomplishments of all. For more info and tickets, visit The Composers Room and follow on Facebook and Instagram.
