We’re back for round two as the Fallout Fringe Festival ushers in its second year! This time around, we have over 35 shows, various parties, and two workshops (one of them is my Intro to Clown workshop from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 6. Space is still available, and check it out here). Here is the first batch of reviews. You can access the full schedule of times at www.falloutfringe.org/schedule.

Times Square Las Vegas by Kye Grant Kauffman Scrumptious ★★★★
The Fallout Fringe kicks off with an incredibly dynamic performance artist who regales the audience with passionate stories about Las Vegas - especially the implosion of the Stardust, Times Square, and how those influenced them through song, movement, and techno music. Kye Grant Kauffman captivates from the moment they come out on stage with probably the most charismatic performance I’ve seen. The music was powerful, and their performance was riveting. And now I know where to buy a boob souvenir. Ha! (Answer: Bonanza Gift Shop.) They’re a 21st-century Laurie Anderson, and I can’t wait for the soundtrack to be released. If I could, I’d watch all the remaining performances of this show. I highly recommend checking out this show, especially since they are from out of town and could use the support.

Maurice La Pierre présente "Circus Maurice" by Cyril Rabbath Delicious ★★★★★
One man, many balls. From behind a rack of costumes, our performer Maurice La Pierre appears with a red top hat and an enormous number of juggling balls, which he proceeds to juggle throughout the evening. First three balls, then four, then five… and suddenly you’re watching eight balls flying through the air. The skill of this man is a sight to behold. Add to that the hilarious humor, lessons in juggling, how to “make love” to gravity (he is French, after all), and the copious amounts of costume changes, and you’ve got one of the highlights of the Fringe. I promise you, you’ll never watch a certain Disney movie the same way again. (I won’t say which because that would spoil the surprise.) This show was an utter delight. Well worth your time.
