Volunteer Connect and Board Connect offer statewide support for NV nonprofits.
A game-changing tool for the Creative Economy and nonprofit advancement is here -- and it is FREE to all Nevadans!
Local arts do not grow on trees, especially in the Mojave desert. Our Creative Economy is powered by paid professionals, passionate volunteers, and community partnerships. While producers and presenters maintain a brave face as they celebrate reopening, the truth is our Creative Industries are on shaky ground. Arts and Culture are created by people for people, and now they are doing what they can to keep creating after a lot of exhaustion and loss from the pandemic. The arts and culture ecosystem needs everyone's help to #CreateOurRecovery, and thanks to Nevada Volunteers and AmeriCorps, it has never been easier for you to get involved through their Volunteer Connect and Board Connect online portals.
In addition to this new tool, Nevada Volunteers offers grants to nonprofits to establish and strengthen volunteer programs. Check them out here.

Nine Performances and eight programs will be performed in Reynolds Hall at The Smith Center
The Las Vegas Philharmonic has announced single tickets are now on sale for its 2021-22 season, which includes nine performances and eight programs from October through May 2022 at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts.
For the 23rd season of the LVP, Music Director Donato Cabrera has selected dynamic works including all of Beethoven’s Symphonies interwoven with contemporary works by female composers including Joan Tower, Anna Clyne, Gabriela Lena Frank, Missy Mazzoli, Jessie Montgomery, and Caroline Shaw. A special Very Vegas Holiday performance will welcome back local entertainers, including Composers Showcase founder Keith Thompson and vocalists Travis Cloer, Eric Jordan Young, Michelle Johnson, and Vita Corimbi. Cabrera will also conduct a world premiere by composer Juan Pablo Contreras as part of a special commission in partnership with New Music USA. Contreras will compose a new orchestral work shining a light on Mexican-American communities. Continuing the mission to enrich lives through music, culture, and education, the Las Vegas Philharmonic established its first three-year artist-in-residence program with critically acclaimed cellist and artistic visionary Joshua Roman. His residency begins on Saturday, October 23, with a performance of Dvořák’s widely popular Cello Concerto.
Music Director Donato Cabrera and special guests will continue to host pre-concert conversations one hour prior to each performance in Reynolds Hall to discuss the works to be performed and the history behind the music. All ticket-holders are invited to attend and participate in these discussions, which offer deeper insight into the music, composers, and artists and enhance the concert experience. Cabrera also creates special playlists for each concert in the season, offering patrons the opportunity to survey the music in preparation for the orchestra’s live performances. Playlists for each performance can be found here: www.lvphil.org/concerts.
As a 501(c)(3) organization, the Philharmonic’s community, education, and artistic programs are made possible by individuals and corporations’ generous donations and support. To learn more, visit lvphil.org or call 702.258.5438. Follow on Facebook: facebook.com/lasvegasphilharmonic, Twitter: @lvphil and Instagram: @lvphil
Tickets start at just $29 and are available at The Smith Center; purchase online at lvphil.org or by phone at 702-749-2000.
